The HMS Victorious is famous for assisting in sinking the Bismarck on May 26, 1941. Following the Bismarck's demise, the Victorious was involved in the attack on the Tirpitz, German battleship and sister ship to Bismarck, in March of 1942. After aiding Russian convoys in the summer of 1942, she would participate in Task Force 14, the USS Saratoga's Battle Group, where she took up operations in the Southwest Pacific. Following a lengthy refit between 1950 and 1958, she served in the Cold War Royal Navy until 1969, when she was withdrawn from service, and sometime thereafter, she was scrapped. This kit portrays Victorious after her postwar refit with the angled flight deck and updated air group with Swift fighters, Sea Vixen fighters and Wessex Helicopters. When fully assembled, this 1/600 scale model measures 397mm long and 653mm wide.
