Airfix FAIREY SWORDFISH MK.I

New from Airfix for 2022, a 1/72 scale Fairey Swordfish. The Mk1 Swordfish is most famous for its use during a daring mission in 1942. 6 of the Mk1 torpedo bombers took off from RAF Manston with the intent to attack and potentially sink 3 capital ships of the German Navy. All 6 of the bombers were lost during the attack, and they failed to inflict any damage to the Gneisenau, Scharnhorst, or the Prinz Eugen. The Victoria Cross was posthumously awarded to Ltcmd Esmonde. The kit is highly accurate, features detailed parts, and comes complete with decals and 2 paint scheme options.
